Donald Renon Travis, 74 , went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 30, 2012 at CMMC in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Wednesday, July 4, 2012 and 10am until the 11am funeral service Thursday, July 5, all at First Pentecostal Church of Jackson. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories in Florence.\ \ Mr. Travis had lived in Jackson since 1971. Before moving to Jackson, He worked as a chemist on the coast for Tenneco Oil Refinery. Mr. Travis was an active member of First Pentecostal Church of Jackson. He also worked as a chemist with Mississippi Fish and Wildlife, branch manager for a savings and loan company, owned and operated State Wide Realty Company, vice-president of multiple road construction companies, a college professor, a founding principle of multiple private schools, campaign manager and participant for multiple state officials, and a political consultant and lobbyist for numerous Christian, humanitarian and state organizations. He was active in the South Central Lions Club. Mr. Travis was a great humanitarian, always helping others at his own expense, never mentioning what he did. \ \ He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lenda Travis of Raymond; son, Rev. Jonathon (Shanna) Travis and daughter Julianna of San Francisco, CA; daughter, Donya (Rev. Jonathan) Stringfellow and daughter Breana of Weatherford, TX; sister, Dorothy (Rev.
