Donald (Donnie) Gene Pope

Donald Gene Pope (Donnie) passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to God, his family and his brothers and sisters in Christ. He was a soul winner and loved every person he knew, unconditionally. Donnie was born January 15, 1941 to Lila Ray and Robert Bern Pope Sr. in Jackson, MS. Donnie served as pastor and missionary in the Congregational Methodist Church 54 years in the U.S. and Mexico. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Glenda Teston Pope (Kirtland, NM); three sons: Robert Bern, Donald Glynn, Jeffery Lynn and ten grand children. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 25 from 6-8pm at Roundtree Funeral Home in Homerville, GA. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, 2013, 10:00am at Homerville Congregational Methodist Church in Homerville, GA. There will also be a visitation Sunday evening, July 28, 5:30-6:30 PM with Memorial Service beginning at 6:30PM at Lakeshore Church 6880 Siwell Rd. South, Byram, MS 39272.
