Donna Kay “Sissy” Agnew went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday March 22, 2014, from her home in Terry, Mississippi. She fought an inspirational battle with cancer during her last five years. A fourth grade teacher with Jackson Public Schools, Donna, better known as Sissy, enjoyed a multitude of friends from her days at Forrest Hill High School, Millsaps College, the Hartsdale neighborhood, Woodland Hills Baptist Academy, and the Town of Terry. Recently, she enjoyed her times at Red Hat Society, Friends of Terry, and the activities of First Baptist Church of Terry. Sissy was dedicated to her friends and family and she considered them God’s special blessing to her. She is survived by her husband, Lee B. Agnew, Jr., her daughter Wendy Agnew Hutchins, her son Bo Agnew and daughter-in-law Robyn Agnew, as well as her grandchildren Bryant Hutchins, Brandon Hutchins, Bodie Agnew and Cosson Agnew. She is also survived by one brother, Buddy Calhoun and sister-in-law Serena of Jackson. Her parents, W.A. and Mary Campbell Calhoun, preceded her in death. Chancellor Funeral Home of Byram is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The service will be at First Baptist Church of Terry on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children, Gateway Rescue Mission, or any charity of your choice.
