Donna Ruth Campbell Nichols, 58, of Florence, died peacefully early Friday morning, August 17, 2018. Visitation will be held from 3-6pm on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Monday, August 20, 2018, from 10-11am at Marvin United Methodist Church followed by the memorial service. She was born in Jackson, MS, on October 4,1959. A 1976 graduate of Florence High School, Donna was a dedicated teacher for twenty years. She spent a majority of her career at Steen’s Creek Elementary. She impacted the lives of children in Jackson (Woodville Heights Elementary), Meridian (Witherspoon Elementary), and at Discovery Christian School. Donna was faithful in serving in several different capacities in her church from Mother’s Morning Out to directing countless musical productions and loved being a part of the church’s community. She was a talented pianist and quilter – both brought immense joy to her life. However, the most precious titles she carries today include daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. From being the older sister to three brothers, to raising three boys of her own - then a few grandchildren, she achieved her greatest happiness by spending time with family. Donna is survived by her parents; Doug and Jane Campbell; her husband of 34 years, Murray Eugene Nichols; her children, Nick and Jennifer Nichols, Jason and Phoebe Nichols, and Caleb Nichols; her brothers, Brian (Vivian) Campbell, Mark Campbell, and Allen (Cary) Campbell; her grandchildren, Murray Eugene Nichols, III, Elliott Glen Nichols, and Magnolia Mayfield Nichols. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
