Mrs. Donna Sue Smith

On Tuesday June 22, 2021, Donna Sue Smith, 75 of Florence, MS, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, June 25th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Sinai Cemetery. Donna loved and lived every day for Christ and her family, never missing an opportunity to witness or pray for others. She was an avid member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church. She was the best wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and prayer warrior anyone could ask for and will be greatly missed by all. Donna is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lemuel Curtis Smith; daughter, Paula (Alan) Knight; granddaughters, Auguste (Zack) Jordan and Anna Grace Knight, and great-granddaughter Georgia Helen Jordan. She is also survived by four brothers, Donald Casey, John Casey, Billy Casey, Lynn Casey and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Casey and Scotcie Everearl Chandler; one sister, Mary Ruth Rosenbam; and three brothers, Danny Casey, Alvin Casey and Willard Casey. The family would like to give their thanks and appreciation to the BMT nurses at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for all their above and beyond love and care that they showed throughout her illness.
