Doris Crawford Bateman, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 8, 2014 at Hospice Ministries Inc., located in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be 5pm until the 7:00pm funeral service Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville, AL. Born in 1942 in South Alabama, Doris attended school in Grove Hill. Doris married Travis L. Crawford and joined him in a life long ministry. She served the body of Christ very well. She worked within her church by being a part of the women’s missionary society, teaching bible school and serving during summer camps. She even taught Sunday school and participated in bible study. She also reached out to her community and devoted her time and heart to those in need. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. Travis L. Crawford and Rev. Bobby Bateman. Survivors include her daughter, Ashley Crawford and grandson Shawn Vincent Lee. Also by her sister Patricia Gilchrist and brother Reginald Goodwin, along with a family full of nieces, nephews and cousins. On line guest book www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.
