Mrs. Doris Rae Rush

Doris Rae Rush, 86, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at her home in Jackson from complications due to cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10am Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Jackson with visitation from 9-10am. Mrs. Rush was born in Monroe, LA, July 30, 1930. She moved to Jackson from Natchez and worked for MS State Tax Commission as auditor for 30 years. Her great passions were her flowers, especially beautiful daylilies, quilting beautiful quilts and she loved animals, especially dogs and cats. She is preceded in death by her father John Loray Jones and mother Willie Mae Jones; two sons, Donnie and Dixon Johnson Doris is survived by her husband William A. Rush; son, Darrell R. Johnson (Loretta); daughter-in-law Leatha Johnson; step-sons, Robbie Rush (Dianne) and Luther Brent Day (Julie); and by her grandchildren and great granddaughters. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church, Jackson, MS or the charity of your choice.
