Mrs. Doris Ball Thigpen

Mrs. Doris Marie Thigpen, 85, was reunited with her loved ones in her eternal home Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 5-7 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. A funeral service will be at 2 PM Friday at Briar Hill Baptist Church with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at Briar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Thigpen was a long-time resident of Florence and was a member of Briar Hill Baptist Church for over 50 years. The most important thing in her life was her children and grandchildren. She also loved flowers, gardening, antiquing and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Thigpen; daughter, Debbie Driscoll; brother, David Ball; brother in-laws, Robert Nations and Louis Thigpen, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Bobby (Sue) Thigpen and Ken (Chris) Thigpen; daughter, Judy (Richard) Stevens; grandchildren, Kelley Seitz, David Seitz, Jennifer Seitz, Meagan (Michael) Berry, Lauren (Jay) Eklund, Lyndsey (Stephen) Dill; six great grandchildren, son in-law, John Driscoll; brother, Jerald (Marjorie) Ball; sister, Myrtle Nations; sister in-law, Mildred Ball.
