Mrs. Dorothy Eloise Arnold

Mrs. Dorothy Speake Hancock Arnold, age 90, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 11, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, in Jackson, MS. Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Arnold was born October 10, 1928 to Alford Galloway Speake, Sr. and Mary Alice Brassfield Speake in Canton, MS. She was a member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence, MS. Ms. Arnold was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Arnold of Madison, MS; son, Joel Andrew Hancock; daughter, Sandra Hancock; sisters, Mary Speake Brister, Ruby Speake Fortenberry, Edna Speake Fortenberry, and Helen Speake McHenry; and brother, Alfred Galloway Speake. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Melynda Adkins Hancock of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Courtney Elaine Hancock Stevens of Brandon, MS, Mollye Jayne Hancock of Brandon, MS, and Joel Elijah Hancock of Pearl, MS; great granddaughter, Carson Raine Hancock; and sister, Hazel Anderson of Savannah, GA.
