Dorothy Sue Baldwin

Dorothy Sue Baldwin, 81 years of age, passed away on May 10, 2024, in Jackson, MS. She was born in Blytheville, AR, on February 12, 1943 to James Calcote and Dorothy Corban Calcote. 
 
Growing up in a nurturing Christian household, Sue's faith remained the cornerstone of her life. She found solace and purpose in her spiritual journey and was reborn on May 2, 1972. For the past 34 years, she actively participated as a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Terry.
 
Sue's passion for nurturing young minds shone through her many years dedicated to children.  She spent 21 years at Oak Forest and 7 years at Alta Woods, where she lovingly cared for nursery, preschoolers, kindergarten kids, and daycare attendees.
 
Sue's pride and joy stemmed from her involvement with the shut-ins of the church and various committees. Her impact on the community extended far beyond her professional commitments. Her warm personality and unwavering dedication touched the lives of many.  

Sue loved reading, gardening, shopping, decorating and spending time with her grandchildren. In her younger years, she loved dancing. She and Mike loved listening to 50s music. 

 Dorothy Sue Baldwin is preceded in death by her parents, a brother named Jimmy Calcote, and a granddaughter named Shelby Lynn Morgan Bell. 
 
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Michael Baldwin; daughters Kimberly Hutton (Ed) and Connie Scarborough (John); granddaughters Kelsey Sullivan (Christian) and Heather Hutton; as well as a great-grandson named Wesley Sullivan. She also leaves behind a sister, Linda Brown (Richard).
 
In honoring Sue's memory, let us reflect on her kindness, compassion, and commitment to serving others. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 1:00 pm until the hour of service at 2:00 pm, Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 pm.  All services will be held at Bethesda Baptist Church in Terry.
