Dorothy "Dot" Nell Sanders

Dorothy “Dot” Nell Sanders, age 89, passed away peacefully at St. Dominic’s Hospital on Friday, March 29, 2024. Born in Helena, Arkansas in 1935, she was the daughter of Troy M. Hollingsworth and Lelia (Hutchinson) Hollingsworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, S. G. Sanders, and her son, Bobby Lamar Sanders.

Dorothy had 5 brothers and 6 sisters. She went to church and taught Sunday School for years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will truly be missed by all friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Roger Sanders (Patsy) of Pearl, MS, Sandra Bates (John) of Pearl, MS, Allen Sanders (Denise) of Florence, MS, and Gary Sanders (Barbara) of Florence, MS; daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Sanders (Lamar) of Byram, MS; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Braxton, MS. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Braxton Cemetery in Braxton, MS.
