Mrs. Dorothy Jewel East

Mrs. Dorothy Jewel East, 88, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Friday, January 19th from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Mrs. East has lived in Florence for 24 years moving from South Jackson where she was a long-time member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church. Currently, she was a member of Cleary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and mother-in-law. Mrs. East preceded in death by her husband, Poche L. East and her daughter, Dorothy Evelyn East. She is survived by her children, Robert (Beverly) East of Brandon; Richard (Janice) East of Florence and Roy (Diane) East of Florence; daughters, Bonnie Neely of Florence and Betsy (Darrell) Gray of Florence; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
