Dorothy Nell Jones-Copeland

Dorothy “Dot” Jones-Copeland passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in Crystal Springs, MS. She was 88 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Terry Fant; burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland, MS.

Dot was born on August 19, 1936, to Elvie Leggett and Lillian Bunch Leggett in Utica, MS. She loved shopping and jewelry. Dot was a true, gentle lady through and through. It was evident through her speech and how she carried herself. She was a firm believer in if you didn’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Dot was a lover of flowers and their beauty. She was a wonderful and kind mother who will truly be missed.

Dot is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Marvin Jones. She is survived by her husband, William “Lloyd” Copeland of Florence; sons Michael Jones (Gina) of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Doug Jones (Lori) of Florence, MS; daughters, Deborah Rice (Fred) of Florence, Dianne Massey of Florence, and Susan Westbrook (Kent Durden) of Richland; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
