Mrs. Dorothy B. Loftin

Mrs. Dorothy B. Loftin, age 88, died Saturday, May 28, 2022. She was born April 16, 1934, in Rankin County, MS to Donnie Barlow and Ella Irene Sandifer Barlow. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Chancellor Funeral Home, Florence from 5:00 pm until 8 pm and again on Wednesday, June 1 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on White Road where visitation will begin at 10 am and the service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Clear Branch Baptist Cemetery. She retired from River Oaks Hospital after 15 years of service. She loved her family, and especially her grandchildren. Other things she enjoyed were beautiful, colorful flowers. Mrs. Loftin was a huge fan of the iPhone and she enjoyed playing games on it. She loved the Lord, her church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and her Clear Branch Community, and being a faithful servant both in spirit as well as with her blessings from the Lord and giving back. During her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her cousin and best friend, Mildred Burnell, going and doing most anything, enjoying life, and like most in the south, good food topped the list! Her parents and brother, Don Barlow, preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Bill Loftin, George Loftin (Cindy), and Don Loftin (Cindy); two daughters, Cathy Crain (Leon), Ouida Smith; one sister, Pat Bowen (Phil); ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
