Dorothy Alene Morea, 89, passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, February 3, 2020 at her home in Pearl. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, February 5th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will be Thursday, February 6th at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one-hour prior at Briar Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Briar Hill Community Cemetery. Mrs. Morea was born March 28, 1930 to Daniel and Esther Knight in Jackson, MS. She worked for many years as a sewing factory worker at Reliance. She was a member of Briar Hill Baptist Church in Florence where she taught Sunday school for over 20 years. She loved her family, her church family, and her church dearly. She enjoyed gardening, especially her blueberries. Along with her parents, Mrs. Morea was preceded in death by her husband Elton Morea, and numerous siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Theresia Sullivan of New Hebron; sons, Danny Morea of Pearl, Bill (Kelly) Morea of Pearl, and Robby (Diane) Morea of Georgetown; brothers, Edward (Iva) Knight of Hinds County and Tim (Debbie) Knight of Richland; sisters, Cleo Odom of Hazlehurst, Lula Mae Berry of Prairie, LA and Jeanette Bryant of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
