Frances Purvis, 78, of Clinton, MS went home to Jesus on Friday, October 05, 2018. Visitation will be at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram on Sunday, October 7 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Petal, MS. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Purvis touched many lives during her years at Hillcrest Christian School as an elementary teacher and then as a principal until her retirement. An avid seamstress and cook, Mrs. Purvis always enjoyed serving others with these talents. She was happiest when every chair around her large dining table was full. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and through the years, served in several areas of ministry. Her parents, W. D. and Jessie Curtis; sister, Helen Bunch; and husband, Edwin, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Gary) Scheider of Clinton, and Becki (Rodney) DePriest of Jackson. Mrs. Purvis “GaGa” loved spending time with her grandchildren, Adam (Elizabeth) Scheider, Amy (Josh) Craft and Zach and Peyton DePriest. Also surviving her are two great grandchildren, Eli Scheider and Lathan Craft. In addition she is survived by her siblings: Ruby Ledbetter, Tom (Connie) Curtis, Carol (Micky) Ryan, Gene (Gayle) Curtis, and Rondah (Bobby) Moudy, all of Hattiesburg, as well as several nieces and nephews.
