Harold Douglas Calloway, Sr., 72, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 6pm-7:30pm Wednesday, October 5 and 10am until the 11am funeral service Thursday, October 6 all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church of Byram Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Calloway had lived in Byram since 1994 having lived in Jackson all of his life. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and Service Technician for MS Valley Gas for 41 years.\ Mr. Calloway was a long time umpire and member of the ASA Softball Association, MS High School Athletic Association and member of First Baptist Church of Byram.\ \ He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald & Doris Calloway and sister Deanna Calloway Harrison.\ \ Survivors include his wife of 50 years Helen L. Calloway of Byram; son Harold D. (Melissa) Calloway, Jr. of Madison; daughter LaDonna (Chris) Hutchinson of Pontotoc; brothers Larry Calloway of Jackson and Jerry Calloway of Crystal Springs; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.\ \ Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church~Byram, MS.
