Mr. Douglas Ray McKinley

Douglas Ray McKinley, 70, passed away on July 12, 2018, at UMMC with his loving wife at his side. He succumbed his battle with cancer after courageously fighting for the last 3 years. Mr. McKinley was born in Taylorsville, Mississippi on January 3, 1948. He was of the Baptist Faith. He is the son of the late Wilmer Ray McKinley and Faye Butler McKinley. He was also preceded in death by his sister Janice Seavey and his son Daniel Ray McKinley. Survivors include his wife of 25 years Linda Dianne McKinley, step son Albert Dale Wood and wife Bonnye of Terry, grandchildren Cullen Dale and Kazzye Kaye Wood of Terry and brother Ronnie McKinley and wife Cindy of Pulaski. Mr. McKinley graduated from Pearl High school. He worked as a Medical Technologist to pay for his college tuition. He graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He then completed his Juris Doctor degree at Mississippi College School of Law formerly known as Jackson Law School. He practiced law in several capacities for over 30 years. Mr. McKinley enjoyed home restoration with his wife Dianne. He had a passion for Shih tzu puppies affectionately known as his “Fur Babies.” He prided himself on his love for his family and considered Albert, Bonnye, Cullen and Kazzye as his own. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 14th at 10 am at Enon Cemetery in Jayess Mississippi. Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram is in charge of the arrangements.
