Doyle Eldridge, Sr.

Doyle L. Eldridge, 77, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at St Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Thursday, March 1st from 5-8 pm and Friday, March 2nd from 10 am until the 11 am service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. \ \ Mr. Eldridge was born in Eden, MS on November 12, 1934 then moved to Benton, MS and then Jackson, MS in search of work. He married Charlene Collins in June of 1953 and then went to work for the United States Postal Service in 1973. He retired after 23 years because of health reasons then joined St. Dominic's work force and worked there until his death. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandkids and great grandkids. \ \ Mr. Eldridge was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Lou Ward, and his brother, Leon Eldridge. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Eldridge of Florence; son, Van Eldridge (Martha) of Pearl; daughter, Belinda Duke of Florence; five brothers, Barnie, Paul, Travis, and Ricky; one sister, Joyce; four grandchildren, Amber Patrick, Brad Eldridge, Bo Duke and Candace Duke; and nine great grandchildren, Cole, Dean, Emma, Easton, Kyla, Anna Claire, Dayze, Sebastian, and Maddox.\
