Mr. Earl Newton Hudson, Jr., 90, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. and again Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow in Briar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Earl was born in Madden, MS to Earl and Edith Hudson He lived all his life in the Florence area and was a member of Victory Congregational Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He retired as the Warehouse Manager with Nabisco after working there 38 years. Mr. Earl was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved his family and his church family. He enjoyed hunting and farming and he was an avid MSU Football fan. His favorite job was being “Paw Paw” Along with his parents, Mr. Hudson is also reunited with his wives, Jeannine Hudson and Elvie Hudson; and his brother, David Hudson. He is survived by his son, Terry (Barbara) Hudson of Boaz, AL; daughters, Linda Hudson of Pensacola, FL, Cathy (Johnny) Mims of Florence, MS, and Annette (Mike) Coursey of Lubbock, TX; step-daughter, Nell (Marion) Ingram of Florence, MS; brother, Robert (Faye) Hudson of Brandon, MS; sister, Rebecca Dear of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Jonathan Vogtner, Andrea Vogtner-Greene, Ashley Hudson, Candace Harralson, April Harralson, and Michael and Matthew Coursey; 3 great grandchildren, Dante Vogtner, Juliet Vogtner, and Cloe Coursey; and several nieces and nephews.
