It is with great sadness, the family of Earl Burnley Reel announces his passing after his battle with a lengthy illness on April 29, 2024, at the age of 51 years.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Reel, Jr., Scott Reed and a sister, Deana Robb; his grandparents, Lavonne Frazier, Earl Burnley, John and Betty Reel.
Earl is survived by his parents, Wanda (Jimmy) Reed of Brandon and Joe (Glynda) Reel of Byram; his sister, Kim (Brian) Harrell of Brandon, brothers, Dan (Lindsay) Hood of Jackson and Ben (Kreissa) Reed of Edinburg in addition to several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
In his early school years, Earl enjoyed participating in sports with a particular interest in baseball and played the position of catcher. He was a strong hitter with numerous home runs to assist his team in achieving many victories.
Earl also enjoyed body-building and participated in competitions for many years.
Earl worked with his father and brother Joe as a painter in their family business. Earl obtained his bachelor's degree in Theology in later years.
Earl utilized his life experiences and past struggles to share his personal testimony with others to alter their lives and accept The Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
Earl could transform a room with his jovial personality and wit. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Earl's services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Chancellor Funeral Home, 7225 Siwell Road in Byram, at 2 pm with visitation prior to at 1 pm. Afterwards, the burial will be held at the Lakewood Funeral Home Pavilion, 6011 Clinton Boulevard Jackson.
