Earlene Martin, 93, passed away on June 24, 2020 at Briar Hill Rest Home in Florence, MS. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Raymond City Cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born to Earnest Elliot Roberts and Eula Holliday Roberts on January 18, 1927 in Bolton, MS. She spent most of her life in Raymond and retired from GM Packard Electric where she was employed as a machine operator. Earlene loved her church family at Country Woods Baptist church. In her spare time, she loved sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Most of all, she loved to travel and spend time with her family. Earlene was a very generous person and she never met a stranger. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James B. Butts; brother, Jimmy Roberts; and sisters, Edna Mooneyham, Birdanell Newman, and Barbara Newman. She is survived by her sons, Randy Butts of Raymond and Billy (Diane) Butts of Jackson; brother, Johnny Roberts of Picayune; sisters, Linda Mason of Bolton and Ouida Katsaboulas of Jackson; five grandchildren, Brandon Smith of Quincy, IL, William Conner Butts of Laurel, Jonathon Tyler Butts of Raymond, Robert Butts of Raymond, and Austin Butts of Harroldsburg, KY; and three great-grandchildren, Allie and Alex Smith of Quincy, IL and Braelynn Grace Butts of Raymond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Baptist Children’s Village or to the charity of your choice.
