Edgar Winborne, Sr.

Mr. Edgar Harold Winborne, Sr., 79, died at the Sonny Montgomery VA Hospital on Sunday, September 20, 2009. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and 1-2 p.m. prior to the 2 p.m. services on Thursday at Cleary Baptist Church. Interment will be in Cleary Baptist Church Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Winborne was born and raised in Magee and returned to his hometown of Magee a few years ago prior to living in Cleary for a number of years. He was a man that loved his family dearly. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a heavy equipment salesman with Stribling Puckett & Tubbs Equipment. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and mentored many young men through sports, deer camp and fishing.\ \ He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Winborne.\ \ He leaves behind his sons: Harold (Ann) Winborne, Jr., David (Barbara) Winborne all of Clinton and Steve (Joanie) Winborne of Knoxville, TN; his mother, Thelma Winborne of Magee; 5 grandchildren: Wes Winborne, Dane Winborne, Ashley Winborne, Peri Winborne and Lesley Winborne Brinkmann; 4 great-grandchildren\
