Edna Lee Schwarzauer Robinson of Byram, age 98, arrived at the feet of Jesus on August 12, 2021. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m. Due to Covid, the family requests face masks to be worn for everyone’s safety. The service will be available for viewing via livestream on the Chancellor Funeral Home Facebook page. Edna was born on June 26, 1923, to the late Michael E. Schwarzauer and Kate Ratcliff Schwarzauer in Silver Creek, MS. She attended Silver Creek High School and Southwest Mississippi Community College. After graduating, she worked for Hull Dobbs Airline Catering at Jackson Municipal Airport (Hawkins Field). She met the love of her life, Robert G. “Bob” Robinson, on a bus on Mother’s Day in 1941. She was going back to college, and he was going back to Army Camp. After dating for two years, they were married on September 8, 1943, in Clinton, MS. Bob’s job as a soil conservationist for the USDA had them moving often and living in towns all over Mississippi until they finally settled in the Jackson area. Their marriage was blessed with 6 children. Bob preceded Edna in death on November 12, 1994, after 51 years of marriage. One of Edna’s greatest joys was spending time with her family in Lawrence County, MS, in a place that the family called “The Country”. She also enjoyed cooking, which led to a long career as the Food Production Manager for Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. After retiring from the medical center, she continued to work until the age of 89 for a home-building business owned by her son, John. She and her family were long-time members of Forest Hill Baptist Church in Jackson, and Edna taught Sunday School there for many years. In her later years, she became a member of Parkside Baptist Church in Byram, where she enjoyed teaching the Golden Circle Sunday School Class until she was no longer able. Along with her husband and parents, Edna is preceded in death by two sons: Robert E. “Bobby” Robinson and John T. Robinson; sisters: Ruth Little and Charlene Jones; and brothers: Michael A. Schwarzauer, Grover Schwarzauer, Max Schwarzauer, and Kenneth Schwarzauer. Edna is survived by a daughter, Salena K. “Kitty” Kennett (John), and three sons: Bill F. Robinson (Taffy), Charles L. Robinson (Lori), and James A. Robinson (Lynn); daughters-in-law: Tricia M. Robinson and Karen B. Robinson; grandchildren: Robin Morton (Ritchie), Bill A. Robinson (Laurie), J.D.
