Mrs. Edna Mae Stringer, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Friday, July 10th from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Saturday, July 11th from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. Funeral Service at Richland United Methodist Church in Richland. Burial will follow at Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A native of West Virginia, Mrs. Stringer lived in Richland for over 50 years and was a faithful member of Richland United Methodist Church for over 40 of those years where she served in many leadership roles. She was a devoted wife, mother and Granny. She enjoyed singing along to her son, Terry playing the guitar. She loved to spend time with family, eat at new restaurants and follow her Oak Grove Warrior football team. Mrs. Stringer was preceded in death by her father, Albert Nelson; mother and step father, Pearl and Richard Champ; siblings, Eugene Champ, Richard Champ, Jr., Peggy Champ and Dottie; and daughter in law, Susan Dorgan, She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Pete Stringer of Richland; sons, Alan (Dana) Stringer of Madison and Terry (Tonya) Dorgan of Linden, TX; sister, Susie Little of Brandon; 4 grandchildren, Christian and Garrett Stringer, Sheila (Bobby) Langbartel, Lacey Dorgan; step grandchildren, Whitney and Leslie; and 3 great grandchildren, Elana, Ashton, and Easton.
