Edwin Lowther

Edwin passed away on October 13th, in Flora, MS. Edwin was 90 years old. Edwin was born in Quinton, OK, December 31, 1918 to E.E. Lowther and Grace Wallace.The family relocated to Florence, MS where Edwin helped his father in the General Store.\ \ Edwin graduated from Millsaps College in 1940 with degrees in Physics and Math. In 1941, Edwin began his career with the Bell system. In November 1942, Edwin entered the Armed forces (Army Signal Corps). He served various locations while in the service, Fort Monmouth, NJ; Arlington Hall, VA; Pentagon; Washington D.C. and Camp Crowder, MO., before going over seas to the South Pacific serving from November 1944 in Port Mosby, New Guenea; Manila in the Philippine Islands; where he served in the Communications and Intelligence Division in the McArthur's Headquarters, until returning to the states in 1946.
