Effie H. Seward

Effie H. Seward, known affectionately as Dell, left an indelible mark on the lives of those she encountered. Born on July 31, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Warren Harding Hancock and Johnnie Mae Downs Hancock. 

Mrs. Dell had a profound impact on her family and friends. Her journey on this earth came to an end on September 10, 2023, in Terry, Mississippi.  She dedicated her career to General Motors Corp., where she served as an inspector.  Her work ethic was exceptional; her dedication inspired others around her to strive for greatness. Beyond her professional endeavors, She was defined by her love for family and cherished moments spent in their company.  She always enjoyed cooking for them and was considered a great cook.

Mrs. Dell found solace in the companionship of her two beloved dogs: Pepper and Sparky. Adoring them with all her heart, she enjoyed their unconditional love and unwavering loyalty. 

Mrs. Dell's parents preceded her in death, Warren Harding Hancock and Johnnie Mae Downs Hancock; as well as her sister Gloria Jean Crawford and brother Billy Thomas Armstrong. 

Mrs. Dell leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Steven D. Seward, as well as, sister-in-law, Evelyn Harper (Larry), from Simpson County, Mississippi; brothers-in-law, Robert Seward (Jennifer) from Waveland, North Carolina, and Nicholas Seward (Michelle) from Arkansas.  Included in those who will grieve her passing is nieces, Shawn Lynn Howell (Mickey) from Morris, OK, Tammy Armstrong of Dustin, OK, and nephew, Colton Crawford from Dustin, OK. There are numerous aunts, great nephews and nieces that will cherish their memories of Mrs. Dell as well.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her honor to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or Alzheimer's Association.
