Ellis Felts, Jr.

Mr. Ellis Marvin Felts, Jr. 84, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 12:30-2 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence with funeral services at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Rankin County.\ Born in Rankin County, Mr. Felts had spent most of his life in Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for over 26 years. He also worked in cattle farming, at Grand Gulf and in the security industry. He was associated with Jesus Name Tabernacle. Mr. Felts is preceded in death by his brothers, John Sidney Felts, Edward Hugh Felts and his sister, Eunice Dear.\ He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Sue Felts, of Harrisville; daughter, Cathy Gilbert; step children, Mary Rush (Carlton) and Wayne Sanford (Lynn); brothers, Dossy Felts (Patricia); sisters, Mary Walker (Ned) and Mildred Fay Norwood (Jimmy); grandchildren Ryan Gilbert and Stephanie Gilbert Douglass; and numerous step grandchildren. \
