Elmer Hunter, 86, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 12:00noon-1:45pm Saturday, July 28 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm Saturday, at Lakewood South.\ \ Mr. Hunter lived most of his life in the Byram area. Following his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he went to work with Bell South, retiring after 38 years of service as a lineman. He was a member of the American Legion Post 112.\ \ He is preceded in death by his sons, John Hunter and Anthony Delorme and also by 14 brothers and sisters.\ \ Survivors include his wife of 63 years Myrties Hunter; daughter Fay Hemphill; daughter-in- law Becky Delorme and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.\ \ Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
