Mr. Elton Morea, 81, completed his earthly journey on September 22, 2009 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.\ \ Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 5-9 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Services will be at Briar Hill Baptist Church in Florence on Friday, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Briar Hill Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Morea came to the Pearl area from Covington County over 45 years ago. He was a member of Briar Hill Baptist Church. He was the oldest person to be baptized at Briar Hill at the age of 76 in 2004. He retired as a truck driver with over 3 million miles of safe driving. He also served his country both in the Navy and Army receiving 3 bronze stars from his duty as cannoneer in Korea. Mr. Morea loved to hunt and fish.\ \ He is survived by his wife, Alene Morea; sons: Daniel "Danny" (Barbara), Bill (Kelly) Morea both of Pearl; Robert (Diane)Morea of Georgetown; daughter, Theresia (Darrell) Sullivan of New Hebron, brothers: Charles Morea of Utica, MS and the late Ervin Morea; sister, Evie Lee(Lelon) Collier of Shelbyville, KY; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.\
