Elvie Copeland Kilpatrick King Hudson, 89, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at River Oaks Crossgates in Brandon. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29th from 5-8 pm and Wednesday, July 30th from 9 am until the 10 am Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd. Mrs. Hudson was born August 26, 1924 in Neshoba County to Linard and Effie Copeland. She was a Member of Sandtown Methodist Church in Philidelphia before moving to Jackson on January 3, 1951 where she was employed by Liberty Super Market as a cashier and bookkeeper for over 18 years. She moved her church letter to Grace Methodist Church where she was an active member, serving on the Administrative Board for 4 years, was chairman of Missions, taught Sunday School for many years, sang in the choir, and member of the Weslyn Service Guild. On January 28, 1994, she moved to Brandon and was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Brandon, participating in Sunday School, choir and many church activities. Most recently, she was an active member of Victory Congregational Methodist Church in Florence. Mrs. Hudson was a born again Christian. She was kind to all she met. She could talk to everyone. She had sound words of wisdom, always with a smile. She could win a persons heart and confidence. Above all, she loved her Jesus and her church. Mrs. Hudson is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Rodney Earl Kilpatrick, Sr., and Wiley Herchel King; brothers, Edwin, Burnis, Delbert, and Arlon Copeland; sister, Vertis Copeland; daughter, Joyce King Anderson; and great grandsons, James and Michael Ingram. She is survived by her husband, Earl N. Hudson, Jr.; children, Gaynell Kilpatrick Ingram (M.T.”Squeaky”), Wayne King (Wondra), Doyle King (Donna), and son-in-law, Gary Anderson; stepchildren, Linda Hudson, Annette Hudson Coursey (Mike), Terry Hudson (Barbara), and Cathy Hudson Mims (Johnny) and all of their children and grandchildren; brother, Prentice Copeland; sisters, Mary Copeland Breland, Vadis Copeland Teer, and Nancy Copeland Covington; grandchildren, Thomas Ingram (Gina), Cheryl Waltz (Rick), Leesa Ingram Davis (Donnie), Damion Lee, Jimmy King (Tina), Tommy King (Joan), Kim Thomas, James Thomas, Jana King Grissett (Mike) Shane King, Tammy Anderson Hawkins (Lane), and Shelly Anderson Hardin; and was blessed with many great and great-great grandchildren.
