Ethel Ashley Bass

Ethel Aline Ashley Bass, 99, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Copiah Living Center in Crystal Springs. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6th from 5-8 pm and Wednesday, August 7th from 12pm until the 2pm funeral service all at Antioch Baptist Church in Florence. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence. Mrs. Bass was a life long resident of Florence and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife and mother and was loved by all that ever met her. She will be remembered as a sweet Christian woman. She loved quilting, embroidering and volunteering at the Community Center and the Food Bank. Mrs. Bass is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Malcolm Bass; son, Benny F. Bass; brothers, Vardamin Ashley, John Ashley, Jim Ashley, Ellis Ashley, Scott Ashley; sisters, Velma Welch, Minnie B Taylor, Alice Lewis; and grandsons Wilburn Bass and Daryl Bass. She is survived by her sons, Luther Bass of Clinton, Paul (Marveen) Bass of Florence, and Robert (Diane) Bass of Florence; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
