Mrs. Eunice Bracknell Smith

Eunice Smith, 92, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Brandon Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will be 12:30 until 1:30 Monday, September 10 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, followed by a graveside service at 2 pm in Floral Hills Cemetery, Pearl, MS. Mrs. Smith was born December 12, 1925 in Delta City, MS to Charles and Nannie Winpigler Cook. She was a resident of Star for 50 plus years. She was in the bakery business for 60 years, and owned Star Bakery for many years. She enjoyed sewing and worked as a Seamstress for many years. Eunice was a member of Wesleyanna United Methodist Church in Star, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James L. Bracknell and Calvin R. Smith; grandson, Dale Wood; granddaughter, Bettye Wood Nolan; great grandson, Austin Jula; brothers, Jake Cook, William Cook; sister, Mary Lee Farlow and half-sister, Joann Parrish. Mrs. Smith was survived by daughters, Virginia B. Wood of Raymond, Katherine Day (Chester) of Vicksburg, Patricia Gregory (Earl) of Frankfort, KY and Bettye Housley (Gerald) of Florence; a half-sister, Bobbye Drane of Natchez; half-brother Alton Hill of Natchez; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
