Evelyn McClelland born June 3, 1923 in Monticello, MS died Monday, May 30, 2011 at the age of 87, at her daughter's home in Terry, MS. Services will be 2pm Friday, June 3 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Lakewood South.\ \ Evelyn graduated from Monticello High and attended Copiah Lincoln Jr. College. She taught sewing and enjoyed being a wife and mother to Ramona and Laura in Brookhaven. Her family lived in Wesson a short time before moving to Jackson in the early 50's and she retired from MP&L. Evelyn loved the Lord, church, family and neighbors and was a caregiver for her husband and mother. She lived her life to be an example to others and was a member of Daniel Baptist Church where she was active as a teacher for many years.\ \ Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Sherman (Mac) McClelland, her parents, Rev. Ernest Hedgepeth, Sr. and Gladys Nelson Hedgepeth and brother Everette Hedgepeth.\ \ Survivors include her daughter, Ramona Karow of Augusta, GA and her children Chris Karow (Kris) of Atlanta, GA and Jon Karow (Jeny) of Augusta, GA. (Evelyn loved her grandsons) and daughter Laura Dulaney and husband Bo of Terry, MS. Evelyn also acquired 3 grandson's in 1981 when Laura and Bo married. She was blessed with Freddie Dulaney (Wanda),Andy Dulaney (Dana) and Bill Dulaney (Cheryl).; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; sister Bettye Jo Wolfkiel of Baton Rouge, LA; several nieces, nephews and cousins that she deeply loved.\ \ Thank you to the many caregivers that touched her life and a special thank you to her special caregiver Lowanna Brinson.
