Mr Floyd Allen Kirk

Mr. Floyd Kirk, 80 passed away Saturday, June 16. 2018 at Briar Hill Nursing Home in Florence. Visitation will be 1pm Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Chancellor Funeral Home, a memorial service will be held in the chapel at 3pm on Tuesday. Mr. Floyd was born in Doddsville, MS in 1937, his parents were the late Carey and Willard Kirk. He was a Civil Engineer employed with MDOT and was appointed State Aid Engineer by Governor Kirk Fordice in 1995 retiring in 2001. Mr. Floyd was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Crystal Springs and lived in Florence for the past 24 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and he owned a Christmas Tree Farm. Mr. Floyd was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife Loula Kirk of Florence, two sons; Allen Kirk of Madison, Marvin Kirk (Laurice) of Florence, step-son Jason Echols of Richland, one daughter; Amy Wright (Chris) of Crystal Springs, two brothers; Bobby Kirk, and Andy Kirk (Lindsay), one sister, Sybil Arant (Turner), seven grandchildren and five great granddaughters, extended family and a host of friends.
