Mrs. Frances Jeanette Davis

August 10, 1942 — November 23, 2016

Our comfort lies in this truth...."For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". Frances Jeanette Puckett Davis, 74, peacefully left her earthly body on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at her home. Her final days were spent in her home surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Davis was born August 10, 1942 to George and Frances Puckett in Brownsville, Tenn. She was married to her high school sweetheart on February 18, 1961. Jeanette was a cosmetologist. She enjoyed line dancing, tending her flowers, road trips, playing chicken scratch, and spending time with her friends and family. 'Bammaw' dearly loved her beautiful, smart and very talented grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, loving grandmother, and a friend and inspiration to many. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and her many 'cheerleaders' carried her through her valiant 18 month fight with ovarian cancer. Jeanette will be greatly missed and affectionately remembered for her beautiful countenance and true southern hospitality by her friends and surviving family members including her daughter, Teresa Bourgeois and husband Eric; grandaughter, Jennifer of Covington, LA; daughter, Rhonda Boone and husband Kelvin, grandsons, Braden and Bryson of Terry, MS; son, Rex Davis of Acworth, GA; brothers, Curtiss 'Bubba' Puckett and wife Charlotte of Brownsville, TN and George 'Junior' Puckett of Blytheville, AR; sisters, Peggy Estes and Marie Ross, both of Jackson, TN. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Max H. Davis, her parents, George Puckett and Frances Thompson, and stepfather Bert Thompson. Mrs. Davis' family would like to thank all the wonderful staff of Compassus Hospice services and Assisting Angels for being so compassionate and caring during this difficult time. Visitation will be held 4-7 pm Friday, November 25 at Chancellor Funeral Home and 10-11am Saturday, November 26 at Lakeshore Church, both in Byram, MS. Services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Lakeshore Church. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, November 27 at Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, Tenn. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to: Lakeshore Cursillo Ultreya c/o Lakeshore Church 6880 S. Siwell Rd Byram, MS 39272.
