Mrs. Frances Ruth Lewis

Frances Lewis, 78, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 8th from 11AM until the 1PM Memorial Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Inurnment will follow at Richland City Cemetery. Mrs. Lewis was born on July 17, 1936 to E.J. and Eva Mae Doherty. One of four children, she learned the importance of family and sacrifice while growing up in rural Arkansas. She moved her and her three children to Mississippi in 1963 and has been a resident of Richland since 1970. Mrs. Lewis is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lela Mae Bryant; her first born son, Arthur Steven “Steve” Hickey; her husband of 21 years, James Robert “Bob” McCraney; and her ex-husband and friend, James L “Jim” Lewis. She is survived by her sister, Dixie (Charles) Newton; brother, Russell (Peggy) Doherty; son, Randy (Betty) Hickey; daughter, Roxann (Ernie) Saxton; grandchildren, Stephanie, Clint, Rusty, Rob, and Nikki; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brandon, Zackary, Jordan, Olivia, Hannah, Katie, Trace, Kaitlyn, and Traci; and great great grandchildren, Faith, Dallas, Mason, and Peyton.
