Mrs. Francis Joy Wood

Francis “Joy” Wood, 50, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 5:00pm at Highland Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. Mrs. Wood was born in Jackson to William Kenneth and Velma Lee Barfield on October 24, 1966. She lived most of her life in Crystal Springs where she was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and crafts (mostly painting). She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. She is preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband of 21 years, James Wood of Crystal Springs; her daughters, Samantha (Wesley) Johnson of Brandon and Lysa Wood of Crystal Springs; one grandchild, Alicia Barfield-Wood; three sisters, Martha Savell of Terry; Fay Johnson and Jamie Hill both of Crystal Springs.
