Mr. Frank Mason Shelby Jr.

Frank Mason Shelby, Jr., 87, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2014 at Villa South assisted living center. Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm Monday, April 14, 2014. Funeral Service will be at 3:00pm Tuesday, April 15, 2014 with visitation one hour prior to the service all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. A graveside service will take place at 5:00pm following the funeral service at Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Shelby was born in Terry, MS to the late Frank and Agusta Shelby. He had lived in Jackson since 1964, working for the State of Mississippi Auditor’s office as an assistant state auditor for over 30 years. Mr. Shelby was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Mississippi Southern College (USM) with a degree in accounting and was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty Shelby; and 7 siblings. Survivors include his sons, Jay Shelby (Carolyn) of Terry, Frank Shelby (Audrey) of Florence and Gus Shelby (Cheryl) of Brookhaven; sister, Dot Shelby of Flowood; grandchildren, Chad, Kirby, Mason, Jess, Rebecca, April and Jake; great grandchildren, Kylee and Skylar.
