Fred Louis Horton of Terry, MS, passed away early Tuesday, March 13, 2012, while resting at his home. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 5-8pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and Saturday from 1-2pm at First Baptist Church of Terry, funeral service beginning at 2pm. Graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Clinton. \ Fred, a native of Conehatta, MS, is preceded in death by his father, Marion Marcellus Horton, mother, Dora Bell Horton, brothers, Arlin and Roger Horton, and sister, Hazel Shaw.\ Fred, a devoted Christian, served his Lord and was faithful to his church serving as a deacon at Parkhill Baptist Church in Jackson, Cleary Baptist Church in Cleary, and presently, at Terry Baptist Church. He spent most of his adult life working at Mississippi Materials Concrete Company as a concrete salesman where he retired after 38 years. Things he enjoyed most in life were ministering to his community family, fishing with his sons and grandchildren, and traveling with his wife and church family. His never ending smile will be sorely missed by those who knew him.\ He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Angelyn B. Horton of Terry, four sons, thankful for being raised in a Christian home, Jimmie and wife Mary of Flowood, Ronnie and wife Marilyn of Conehatta, Ricky of Clinton and our friend Teresa Davidson of Flowood, and Justin and wife Ellen of Terry. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one sister, Nell Thornton of Jackson.\ In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Silver Bells at Terry Baptist Church in honor of our father. \ On line guest book available at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.\ \ \
