Fred Lucas, Jr.

Fred Lucas, Jr., 84, of Terry, died October 29, 2010 of complications from pneumonia. Visitation is 5-8pm Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.\ Services will be 2pm Sunday, October 31, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with interment at Bethesda Baptist Church cemetery in Byram.\ \ Fred was born March 24, 1926 in Brookhaven and a long time resident of Jackson. As a proud Navy Veteran, he served in both World War II and the Korean conflict. After military service, he worked many years at Vickers and retired from Siemens.\ \ Fred was a 32 degree Mason with James A. Myers Lodge #619, a member of the Scottish Rite, and American Legion Post #112.\ \ Friends and family include his wife Nell Myrick Lucas of Terry; two daughters, Freda Lucas Bates and husband Keith of Madison and Debbie Lucas Clark and husband Robert of Stringer; three grandchildren, Lisa Bates Parenteau and husband Scott of Gluckstadt, Cain Clark and Quade Clark of Stringer; sister Lillie Mae Lucas Merrill of Brookhaven; brother Jerry Lucas of Brookhaven; Close family friends Ed and Tina Pace of Edwards.\ \ \ In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital.\ \
