Mr. Fred Russell

Fred Lee Russell, Jr., 76, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 1, 2013. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, June 4, and 10-11am Wednesday, June 5, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will begin at 11am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel followed by interment at Terry Cemetery. Freddie was born in Bessemer, AL to the late Fred and Deema Dickey Russell. A hardworker who provided for his family, Fred loved to travel, enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. Grandchildren were his heart, he was a faithful Christian and member of Country Woods Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard T. Russell and James Paul Russell. Survivors include his wife Jerry Russell of Terry; son Darryl Russell (Cindy) of Terry; daughter Melanie Sorenson (Eric) of Stringer, MS; grandchildren Jonathan Nowell, Andrew Thornton, Daniel Russell (Lauren), Chad Thornton, Jordan Thornton (Jessica) and Jenna Russell; great grandchildren Hannah, Avie and Parker.
