Freddie "Fred" Sills, 79, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the G. V. "Sonny" Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Southside Assembly of God Church with burial to follow in Rosemont Memorial Gardens. \ \ Mr. Sills served as a military policeman at the end of the Korean Conflict. He worked for 38 years as a Policy Account Manager at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company. Mr. Sills had a passion for ministry. He served in many capacities in his church, including serving on the benevolence committee, singing in the choir, and serving as an usher and greeter. \ \ Mr. Sills was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Katie Sills; brothers, Francis Lee Sills and Vernon D. Sills; and sister, Dorothy Marie Turnage. \ \ He is survived by his wife Helen Sturgis Sills; sons, Mike Sills (Sandy) and Donald Sills; daughters, Vickie Robinette, Carla Easley (Shane), and Stephanie Lee (Ricky); step-sons, Danny Sturgis (Dianne) and John E. Sturgis (Bonita); brother, Roland Sills (Ellen); fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.\ \ The family would like to express appreciation to their caring church family and pastor at Southside Assembly of God Church; the caring staff of Camellia Home Health and Hospice; the nursing staff of G. V.
