March 6, 1944 — March 16, 2013

G. A. “Mickey” Smith, Jr., 69, left for his heavenly home Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland after a difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Visitation is 5-8 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and one hour prior to the 11 AM Service Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Cleary Baptist Church. He enjoyed going on mission trips and serving others using the talents God gave him. He lived everyday as a gift and worked to make the most of everyday. He developed many special friendships through his 40 years of service to the USDA. He enjoyed the outdoors and any activity that involved his grandson. Mickey was preceded in death by his parents. Mickey leaves behind a loving family that will miss him dearly including his wife Margaret; his son and daughter-in-law Chad and Shelly; his grandson, Jordan Smith; his sister, Joyce (Jim) Williams; and his brother, Mark (Janet) Smith; and a host of extended family. We love you Mickey. “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.” The family guestbook may be signed at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com.
