Cecil Garner “Speedy” Fleming, 80, passed away Saturday September 25, 2021 at his residence in Jackson, MS. The family will receive friends Monday, September 27, 2021 from 4pm until 6pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS, and Tuesday, September 28, 2021 beginning at 10 am until the 11 am Funeral service at Andrews Chapel Church in Quitman, MS Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Garner was born June 15, 1941 in Quitman, MS to Carl and Mae Wright Fleming. He was raised in Quitman and as a teen moved to Jackson where he resided for the remainder of his life. Speedy as he was affectionately called by his friends, loved drag racing, working on antique cars and riding his Harley. He was famous for his 10-grand burnout. Garner was the owner and operator of the Chevron Station on Cooper Road and retired from American Warriors after many years. He later worked for Custom Products. Garner is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and May Fleming; siblings, Evelyn Clardy, Anita Faye Coody, Carlton Wayne Fleming, Terrel Fleming and Diane Young. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 23 years, Mavis Fleming of Jackson, MS; children, Karen (Brad) Stone of Madison, Ronny (Rhonda) Fleming of Terry, Tammy McKee of Jackson; stepsons, Denny, Doug and Duffie Harveston; sisters, Cherry Martin, Peggy Jean Simpson; brothers, Mack D. Fleming, Rickie Fleming; grandchildren, Krissi (Zac) Williams Michael Fleming (Fiancé’ Heather Boyd), Justin (Erin) Stone, Amanda Stone, Corey McKee, Colby (Taylor) Morgan, Caden (Brandi) Morgan; great grandchildren J.J.
