Gary Dean McDaniel passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at University of MS Medical Center in Jackson. He was 58 years old. The family will receive friends for Memorial visitation on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Gary was born July 13, 1963 in Flowood, MS. As a child, he attended New Zion Baptist Church. A long-time construction worker, one of his favorite seasons of life was when he was a deck hand with his uncles and cousins on a work boat. He was a kind, generous, big-hearted man who loved his family. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting and watching NASCAR. Gary was known as a rebel who didn’t follow the rules. Gary was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lillender and Moscow Boykin; his paternal grandparents, Christine and Curtis McDaniel; and his father, Granville Rudolph McDaniel. He is survived by his mother, Lillender Faye (Freddie) Duncan of Richland; daughter, Denise (John) Carlisle of Richland; sons, Garret (Krystal) McDaniel of Richland and Dillon Cole McDaniel of Mize; brothers, Raymond Earl McDaniel of Richland and Thomas Eugene McDaniel of Crystal Springs; grandchildren, Miranda McDaniel, Cloe Elkins, Christina Elkins, Brooklyn Self, Lexy (Trey) Mooney, Jade Carlisle, Kael Carlisle, and Clyde Carlisle; and great grandchildren, Talon and Valkyrie Mooney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
