George Francis Bokros, 84, of Florence, MS, passed away on January 3, 2021 in Merit Heath River Oaks, Flowood, MS. George was born on October 9, 1936, in Warren, Ohio, the son of George Steven and Mary Gmucs Bokros. George was very athletic and graduated from Fowler High School in 1954. He worked at 84 Lumber Company and had four children with Doris Meeker. He later worked as a tool-and-die professional in Warren at Packard Electric, a GM subsidiary. In 1974, he moved his family to Jackson, MS through a GM job relocation. On January 4, 1980, he married Louise Goodwin. He retired from GM in 1989. They enjoyed making wood craft items, growing muscadines, and traveling. He loved fishing, golfing, and rooting for his favorite sports teams. They attended Star Baptist Church. He was predeceased by Louise in 2011. He is survived by son, Dan Bokros (wife, Christy) of Pearl, MS; son, Gary Bokros (wife, Faye) of Ooltewah, TN, son, Randy Bokros (wife, Mary) of St. John’s, FL, daughter, Sandy Richardson (husband, John) of Cantrall, IL, and step-daughters, Karen Herman of Florence, MS and Sheila Holder of Madison MS. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren/many great-grandchildren and beloved friend, Nancy Green of Florence, MS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Star Baptist Church, 301 Mangum Dr., Florence, MS 39073, MS. His final resting place will be in the Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence, MS. A life-affirming memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
