George Jones, Sr.

George Marvin Jones, Sr., 62, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at his home in Jackson. Visitation will be 3-4pm Monday, January 30, 2012 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. A Memorial Service will begin at 4pm Monday in the funeral home chapel.\ \ Mr. Jones was born in Superior Wisconsin on May 6, 1949 to Joseph Robert Jones, Sr. and Gertrude Elizabeth Wade Jones. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a master mechanic for the Ford Motor Company. \ \ He is preceded in death by 2 sons, George Jones, Jr. and Frederick Jones, Sr.; 2 grandchildren Shelby Jones and Robby Jones.\ \ Survivors include his wife Sherry Busby Jones of Jackson; daughter Tammie Jones of Florence; step-daughters Eva Funderburk of Jackson, Tracy Ashe of Clarksdale and Debbie Harrell of Jackson; brother Joseph R. Jones, Jr. of Gluckstadt; sister Linda Jean LeBlanc of Prarrieville, LA; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.\
