Mr. George Worsham Mathews Jr.

George Worsham Mathews, Jr.,73, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at VA Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 9am-10am Monday, August 20, 2018 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 10am Monday in the funeral home chapel officiated by Chaplin David Allen. Mr. Mathews was born in Yazoo City, MS to the late George Worsham Mathews, Sr. and Verdie Lee Hogue Mathews. He lived in Terry for the past 20 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Terry. Mr. Mathews was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a Master Electrician who loved to play dominos and was an avid deer hunter. Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Bowling; sister, Mary (Danny) Hughes; grandchildren, Gregory Scott Welch, Jr. (Jamie) and Melissa Allen (Matt).
