Mr. George Davis Watts, 86, of Pearl, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland. Visitation will be 5-8pm Monday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and Tuesday from 9 until the 10am funeral service in the funeral home chapel. An interpreter will be provided for the deaf. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. A native of Brookhaven, Mr. Watts was a World War II veteran and a long-time resident of South Jackson before moving to Pearl two years ago. He was a self employed artist of wood and spent years in the Gideons International. Mr. Watts was a former member of Oak Forest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was currently a member at Woodland Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Miriam Watts. He is survived by his son, Dayle (Monti) Watts of Pearl; his daughter, Debbie (Robert) Battle of Flowood; his nephew, Ronnie Watts of Brookhaven; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
